Whilst it could be classed as assault, I have the same opinion as Ian, the assault alone was not worth a 4 month tariff. In all likelihood, it was probably a 6 month sentence minus the usual 1/3 reduction for early guilty plea.
It was a single push, no use of weapon, wasn't a sustained attack, nor part of group action. It was as simple as they come. I haven't heard the DJ(MC)'s full court pronouncement and so can't comment fully on the sentence. I haven't heard the prosecution or defence cases but I would possibly have sentenced as follows; Breach of FBO - Custody 4 months Assault - Custody 1 month to be served concurrently to above. Encroaching the field of play - no separate penalty. For me the breach is the key offence, ie, had he not breached the order he wouldn't have committed the other offences.
