I can just imagine this - Dave turns up on Monday morning at work flushed with success from a weekend's running and then offers boss's lass a lick of his Scotch Pie. Dave suddenly realises he hasn't changed out of his snugly fitting shorts and less than pristine white singlet and that his pie is no longer warm and succulent as it was when he bought it on Saturday morning at Pies 'R Us.
Boss's lass runs to dad screaming "that mad bloke from Didsbury is half dressed and wants me to lick his pie" - the whole sitcom denouement just waiting for Maggie to write the previous 23 minutes and for Ed Morrish to select the cast (I believe Richard Briers is available). This episode was first shown on ATV in 1967.
