I don't think proving the absence of something (a god) requires the same
level of proof as the definite proof of something (a god).  Long time since
I did philosophy or logic, but surely the basic starting point is that
NOTHING exists and you then start from there - ie I'm Pink therefore I'm
Spam - the basic proof of the existence of processed meat.

Judaism or any of the tiresome offshoots, Christianity, Islam, Moronism, 7th
Day Adventist etc etc  all define a very detailed existence that the
followers slavishly accept.  Atheism starts at the point that extraordinary
beliefs require extraordinary proof.
