But Chris, he doesn't have a "successful" record in Italy. As far as I know
Cagliari have won nothing under his ownership.

Cheers!

Do we? I think its true to say that the most successful manager in history -
Alex Ferguson, was in position for the longest time, but Chelsea? Manchester
City? Tottenham Hotspur, Glasgow Celtic, Liverpool. all successful clubs, all
change managers at the drop of a hat. The only reason we think the recipe for
success is longevity is Alec Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, two remarkable
coaches.
To say that is the only way to success is like saying the winner of the lottery
is very rich therefore I'll play the lottery every week until I win it.

The fact is we don't really know what we're in for - we all agree that our
history of owners has been a slow descent into purgatory, starting with the
idiot that bought Thomas Brolin, Bill Fotherby. Since then its been downhill
all
the way. Fact is today we're a mid table second division club with no stadium
and massive debts. Cellino has paid off many of those debts, kept us alive in
fact yet the dissenters still moan because he hasn't bought back the stadium
and
Thorp Arch. Would you? Seriously? We are losing money at a frightening rate.
The
owner has plugged the gaps, steadied the ship and done it with speed. So far,
so
good.

I don't know where this will end, but we have a wealthy owner with a successful
record in Italy, one of the leading football countries in the world. It cannot
possibly be worse than the nightmare pairing of Brian McDermott and David
Haigh.
If those two had stayed at the helm, relegation would be the least of our
worries. And so many people wanting Gary McAllister back - what exactly is it
about his record as a coach that makes anyone think he'd do a job for us?
Legendary player yes. Manager? Bloody useless.

Both McDermott and Warnock were absolutely clueless, Warnock was past his sell
by date and McDermott was just a PR man. He told us what we wanted to hear, no

obviously knows something about football, he kept Cagliari in the top division
