Folks,
First list posting in 6/12/18 months but very much still alive, I think. Love
the match reports which I broadcast widely amongst the dwindling/elderly band
of whites in the West of Ireland AKA Galway.
I joined the list in January 1993 (TWENTY THREE YEARS AGO) when I worked for
DEC/Digital and got early net access for e-mail purposes. Remember these were
the pre-web days when Usenet/newsgroups reigned supreme. The list was
publicised via rec.sport.soccer or similar but it took me 6+ months to stumble
across it. Padd Cadd, Tim Sherlock and Jon Blythe were fellow travellers with
me in that company at the time. What an eventful early few years those were!
I still maintain a full-ish archive of the list; I never did get the first 6 or
8 months but I pretty much have everything else since then. I have promised it
to a goodly number of people but I've never done anything about it. Sincere
apologies to all who may have asked over the years :-(. No excuses so will not
offer any.
Anyone still here who subscribed in 1992? Mark Smith, Gavin Burnage in
particular!
James (last Elland Road visit remains 2008).
