Whilst I wouldn't necessarily subscribe to the doc's pessimism, that's another
game where we have been truly awful. Sky had a stat up first half that
basically says if we concede first we rarely win and nearly always lose.
I thought we looked better side at 0-0 but as soon as they scored we were done.
I've tried to look for positives in Wiedwald's keeping but there aren't any. He
doesn't claim crosses, his positioning is awful and he keeps punching instead
of catching. I'd rather have Silvestri.
It's hard to be too harsh on Phillips and O'Kane after some excellent
performances in the early games but the season lasts 46 games, not 6. Viera has
to play and maybe Anita in central midfield too.
Roofe gets a lot of stick for being lightweight but had very little chance
again but Dallas must be worth a start instead?
Alioski looked the business a few weeks ago but seems to have lost something, I
think he needs a spell out of the team.
Do we need a change of style or formation? I know he wants to play out from the
back but we keep getting caught overplaying in the wrong areas. Do we really
need all those attacking players in an away game? Where is the bite in
midfield? Could we play 2 up front and play more direct?
Early season optimism all but gone - I think we'll do well to make top six
unless he sorts us out quickly.
