The highlight of the evening for me was discovering they serve Neck Oil on draught in the downstairs North East Bar. Now, don't get me wrong, Neck Oil is not my favourite beer and I wouldn't buy it in a Leeds pub but compared to the bath water they pass off as beer normally in the bars, it is bloody nectar ! As for the game, they came for a point and got one. They looked lively at times but rarely troubled us and as for us we just weren't able to break them down. The passing around the back is ok when you know there's an attack and a goal coming but when you see us not running and making opportunities up front you realise that something isn't quite happening at the moment. Give it to Jimmy is the only option. Go on Jimmy, beat 5 men and put it in the back of the net. He's capable of doing that now and again but not everytime he gets the ball. The options on the wing were limited. James has a nasty habit of finding an opposition shirt from a pass or cross. Is he related to Jack Harrison ? Rutter doesn't look right since his op. He looks a yard short and spends most of the time on his arse or desperately lunging around trying to retrieve the ball he's just lost. In midfield, we've got 2 players who are very similar in that they do the simple stuff well but when we're looking to create they can't. I thought Kamara actually had his best game for a while but he's not going to score or create a goal. So what's the problem ? Are we tired ? Has the bubble burst ? Are we running out of ideas ? Not sure, I think it's all a bit tense and I think we might see a few more weird results over the next 3 weeks. Scores: Meslier - 6. Can't remember him having to do much other than a couple of simple saves from a free kick and a shot. Gray - 6. Did ok defensively although Clarke got free on one occassion. He also had a great run into the box but then fluffed it like he did in the first minutes against Coventry Firpo - 7. I thought he was lively and arguably our best forward :) Rodon - 6. Not his best game. Some of his passing was awful Ampadu - 7. Seems untroubled. Kamara - 7. Won some battles Gruev - 7. Tidy as always James - 4. Not in the game Summerville - 7. Our most lively player as always Bamford - 5. Worked hard but not effective Rutter - 4. Hit the South Stand roof a couple of times, lost the ball a lot of the time. Not even sure he's worth his place in the team at the moment. Subs: Joseph - I know he's done well recently but I was shocked to see his lack of movement when he came on. He really didn't have any impact on the game. Gnonto - lively. Needs to start now. Roberts - also made an impact Will we make it ? _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
