Ok, I didn’t check the table before posting, but we’re still 5th, and 3
points off the top, so everything to play for!
I like the fact it looks like there won’t be 3 runaway teams this year
- if a very average Sunderland are top we’ll do ok. I think the
enforced changes have made us more attack-focussed tbh, and I enjoyed
watching last night, apart from the last 2 minutes. I am however never
happy defending a 1 goal lead - time and again we find ways to cock it
up! Last night’s was something very special in that category :-)

I would argue that if you've been supporting Leeds United for more than
half a century (as I have - and I believe I'm far from the
longest-serving supporter on this list!) and you're not a
glass-half-empty person, then you haven't been paying attention (or are
on some sort of mood-altering drugs). I said to my dad with five
minutes to go yesterday, words to the effect of, "You know they're
going to score, it's just a question of how." (I also told him a few
minutes before that, "It's the hope that kills.") Supporting Leeds
United is just committing to a life of disappointment. We've achieved
what I would call something worth celebrating (a trophy won or a
promotion gained) only five times in 51 years of support. In that time
we have never, ever won a knock-out tournament.

Oooh that's a bit glass half empty!
One could also say we have already visited 3 of the top 5 and are
unbeaten in those games.

Whoever told you that the worst we could end up at the end of the
weekend is 4th is not to be trusted with any sort of responsibility
that involves mathematics. If West Brom get at least a point, and if
Blackburn win their game and the 'Boro/Watford game has a winner,
we're down to seventh.
At the time of writing we're 5th in the live table. Of note, we've
played four of the other five in the top six and have failed to beat
any of them. We play the only remaining team in that group next.
Cheers!

OK, the final 2 minutes took the gloss off the performance, but
otherwise it was a very impressive performance against the top of
the table side, albeit they look a bit crap imho.
Weird things happen re the bounce of the ball, spin, divots etc, and
given Meslier didn’t lay a finger on the ball suggests some Shane
Warne style skulduggery in play. Just unlucky, and 99% of other
goalies would have suffered the same fate - split-second bounce and
it’s in! Memories of Seaman and the ball bouncing over his arms
after hitting a divot!
I’ve never been a big Gnonto fan, but I thought he was excellent
last night and, somewhat surpringly, kept his cool despite the
repeated attention he got! I also thought Tanaka and Rothwell did
pretty well - let’s hope that partnership develops and stays fit!
Aaronsen still runs around like a headless chicken, panicking both
sides in equal measure :-) I like him tbh, but him in particular,
and others, give the ball away far too often for my liking.
I blame not getting 3 points on the overly cautious tactics once
we’d got the second - they were there for the taking, but once again
we didn’t go for it - it’s a bad habit, and 1-goal leads often come
back to bite you!
I can’t really fathom bringing Joseph on ahead of Bamford. Piroe did
ok, got a good goal, albeit possibly offside, but Bamford is a far
better defender at corners, and better at closing men down. I like
the look of Schmidt in the very brief cameos he’s had so far too.
Someone posted that the worst we can be after the weekend is 4th, so
it’s not all doom and gloom, despite THAT goal.
Finally, what a joy it was to see all those Wearside maggots
slinking out after 80 minutes, leaving the stands half empty by the
end. They knew they’d been tupped!

not been impressive or lived up to his early promise. His saves /
goals xg or whatever it us for keepers has been one of the worst in
the division. At one point something like 16 shots on target from
17 went in the net - not greatThe main problem is he is so much
better than his would be replacement, Darlow, who is awful
> Whether the 2pts from these games is sufficient only time will
tell but we could and should have won them both so there is lots to
be happy about especially given our injuries - 2 from 4 wingers out
( hopefully DJ and Solomon will be back for Sheff game) and 2 of 4
midfielders out for months Heads up and go again in 2 weeks - hoping
that the likes of Tanaka and Aaronson dont suffer on international

It is a good result. First points they’ve dropped at home, I think.
