told to drive more carefully & help lower the nation's road toll. But do we
pay as much attention to work-related death & injury? DR HELEN SUTCLIFFE
[Occupational Workers Health Clinic, Vic] explains her concerns in this area
to Nola Brooks.
THE 3RD WAY
With its emphasis on "community" & "social capital", the 3rd Way has become
an important factor of political debate in Western democratic nations.
Proponents of the 3rd Way include Tony Blair's New Labour [UK] and the
Clinton/Gore New Democrats in the US. CHRIS SCANLON is writing a PhD on this
phenomenon. He speaks to Rob Heller.
AWARD COVERAGE FOR PARALEGAL/JUNIOR LEGAL STAFF
Industrial disputes are increasingly being fought in the legal system,
conducted by lawyers, barristers & QCs. Imagine the odds if your dispute
was, in fact, with the legal system itself. Rob Heller spoke to LINDA WHITE
[Assistant National Secretary, ASU] about a case involving award coverage
for junior legal & paralegal staff, the outcome of which was decided earlier
this year.
