I also agree, I’ll stick to my manual 1200 LOM any CNC version associated with
them would be totally unsupported from Legacy and I see nothing but frustration
and problems instead spend the money on 4th axis Digital Wood Carver that is
100% more supportive.

If I was to buy this machine, I would only buy it as a 1500 with the stated
accessories and would not assume the CNC side of it. If I was able to get the
CNC working, some of the parts, like the 4xgear would have no use as you don't
need the gears for pitching, the index plates or directional gears. You can't
use the templating functionality with the CNC so those accessories are not
useful either.

I recently sold a model 2000, with all the bells and whistles and several bits
for only $2500 and that was for a model 2000 which is a much larger machine.

I bought my 1200 Performance CNC for $2200 3 years ago. Even though I am
selling it, I have been very happy with it. I have added things to it so it is
a better machine today than when I bought it. However, I had to figure out how
to get it working completely on my own. There is no support from Legacy and I
was digging through forums that were 10 years old to get the pieces of
information I needed. For me it was actually a lot of fun but I would have a
hard time imagining someone else going through the same process.

In no way am I trying to disparage someone from buying this awesome looking
machine. I have just seen so many of these machines and there is often
something missing. I just love the machines and usually have the parts to fill
in the gaps. Well I used to have all the parts :).

I found a brand new 1800 last year in an estate sale. The owner got it from her
father and had no idea what to do with it or interest in it. She was asking
$2000 for it. I looked it over. It was missing a few small, but key parts, and
was not put together properly. I told her about the machine and that my
interest was only in some of the accessories. In the end, I bought it for $500,
spent hours putting it together properly, replaced some of the missing parts
and then sold it for $1000. Not a business for me, but I got a good deal, the
person who bought it got a good deal and I, hopefully, helped someone get a
good start with one of these mills.

Anyway, something to consider.

Lower and the seller would be giving the mill away it’s a starting estimate I
didn’t see any horizontal or vertical vices or any .25 or 2x gears and other
accessories apart from the rotary table, the 4x gears are good but they don’t
cover all the smaller pitches. remembering what other mills I see for sale I
thought it was a fair price what do you think is a better price? As with all
things for sale it all depends on how bad the seller wants a sale verses how
bad a buyer wants the item. Just because new it all cost a fortune doesn’t mean
you will get a fortune when you sell it this is all just my opinion im
interested on what every one else’s is.

Hey Bill!... I might think it will be more than the $3,500 you are
estimating... spoke to the seller and he mentioned that there are at least 12
of those 6" long Magnate bits that are made specifically for the Legacy machine
and they are basically in brand new condition.... I just bought two of
those(fluting, 1/2" diameter flute) from Magnate and they were $50 each!... and
there are still boxes that the seller is going through... so it will be
interesting to see where this all settles into... but the big key is who is
willing to travel to that part of the country to seal the deal... as mentioned,
there is no parting out of this stuff and there will be no
crating/packing/shipping of this entire lot of stuff... the seller is seeing
all of these comments now, and will soon be commenting himself once he is
approved into the group, so everyone can then have contact with him directly...
good luck to all and the seller as well... Joe B.

Joe,

Do you know the version of the CNC upgrade? It was either Standard or
Performance.

1) CNC legacy upgrade package, not installed... most likely never installed...
with the software CDs!

2) 4X gear package upgrade... yes, 4X!... verified myself and with the
installation sheet

3) "Z" axis upgrade

4) rotary table with the flex piece to connect it to the head stock

5) Legacy aluminum rail base with casters

6) original lead screw drive motor with the controls and limit switches

7) nice Porter Cable router on it

8) practically every Legacy option you could ever imagine

9) I am sure there are router bits, just haven't gotten that far into the
inventory

I am guiding this person through the process, so no low ballers!... LOL!...
