Starting "everything" and leaving it running all day is an invitation to trouble under *any* version of Windows. This uses resources and slows the operation of *all* the open programs. I've used 3.1, 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP and it's always been the case (slightly better in later versions, but not bulletproof). Speed up your PC by only opening the programs you need and protect your data by closing them when finished.
