I messed up this time. I backed up my Legacy .fdb file as advised, but it made 2 zip files: one of which was the multimedia file. I did NOT send that to my sister yesterday as I thought it would confuse things and it wasn't important for her to have the photos and PDF stuff. So, when she tried to restore the backup .zip file of my Legacy main database into her computer, it told her to insert a second CD (! it was an email attachment!) so I guess I should have sent her the multimedia file as well. The restore procedure did not work, she views an empty family file screen now.
So today I sent her the multimedia file and she got this message: "The zip file C:\Legacy\Data\Marilyn Posthumus Legacy file.fdb does not contain a Legacy Family File for Restoring so this may be a multimedia backup file. You will have to restore multimedia files using WinZip ro a similar zip file utility." So now I am stumped. I can barely figure out how to use WinZip myself, and I sure can't tell her how to do it. Why is it so difficult to put my Legacy database onto her PC??
