Chick, In a nutshell you don't! The .RTF export contains the codes for the Contents and Index which WORD or OpenOffice will convert inter the appropriate form. This has the advantage of enabling the changes in page numbers to be accounted for when the Contents and Indexes are compiled. I do not know Word, but a description of how to do this in Open Office is given in my tutorial at http://www.fergys.co.uk/Blogs/AncBk.php which actually relates to an Ancestor Book, but the principle applies to all.
