Mike,

Yes there is a way but it is a bit of a work around that will leave the
person with an unknown spouse.
Use CTRL-N to create a new unlinked individual.
Name them Previous CHILD.
Click on the mother or father section for Previous CHILD, select link to
an existing person and link this child to the person who you know was
married before.
This step will create a marriage between the person who was married and
an unknown spouse.
You can now delete Previous CHILD.
Go to the person who was married and you will see they now have 2 spouses.
Open the spouse list and you will see they have the known and unknown
spouses listed.
Select the unknown spouse and you can edit the marriage to indicate that
it occurred before the second marriage whose details you know. Now you
will be able to sort the marriages so that the unknown spouse is the
first marriage.
