1. Make a backup copy of the family file just in case.
2. In Legacy, with the family file loaded, go to menu item "File / File 
Maintenance / Check-Repair" and follow the instructions.
3. Let us know how that works.

While trying to update to the latest version of Legacy I got this message:
"Message File record #13296 not found" (the number keeps changing as I try
different solutions)  Legacy froze and I cannot open it.  I haven't been
able to find this message in the help menu or archived messages.
I am writing for a friend; she is running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop.

Can anyone help me out?
