Not in Legacy! I've been using Legacy since 3.something and enclosing anything in quotes as part the given name has always been the way that a nickname or other family name could be defined and then used in reports. Personally, I detest "Initials With A Period". I think omitting the period looks neater, but that's only a personal observation. There is absolutely no need to introduce a 'new' standard. The number of individuals that this would apply to, world-wide, must be minimal. As others have said, this is what the option to Exclude From Potential Problems is for! The option works at the Global level *and* at the level of an individual.
