Somehow I knew that Geoff might be jumping right in himself on this one to 
quell what turns out to be my un-substantiated rumor. In truth, I did spend 
some time looking all over but I guess I missed the Privacy paragraph in the 
middle of the "Email Lists" page. My apologies.

OK, to set the story straight....Millennia Corporation does indeed have a 
privacy policy. Our email addresses are not sold and are kept confidential.

But now, I'm back to the original question about why a password is needed to 
install Legacy especially given the fact that the password is freely published 
on the web. It's not used to collect email addresses even for Millennia's own 
use. I think maybe it's an Arizona thing. And by the way... for anybody that 
might be thinking otherwise, this is not even near being a complaint about the 
use of the password. I'm just looking for some info about its origins and/or 
purpose.
