That was Jim's story back then.

It seems to me like you can get #1 from the web server logs with a
simple perl script. In fact, a perl script would probably be more
accurate.

I don't think #2 applies anymore since users use the web form to
subscribe and unsubscribe to the various Legacy lists.

So that leaves #3.
