The usr files are always recreated when you use the related feature. Deleting them just gives you a fresh copy.
Since this doesn't appear to be specifically related to your file, I'm going to have you do a complete uninstall and then reinstall. After you uninstall Legacy, with Windows Explorer look in the C:\Legacy folder or whichever folder you had Legacy installed in. Within this folder you will find several files remaining that you will need to delete. Carefully delete the following files with the file extension of: .usr (defined as "USR File") .exe (defined as "Application") .ocx (defined as "ActiveX Control") Legacy.exe.local (defined as "LOCAL file") If the last two files aren't there, don't worry about them. DO NOT delete any of the folders like the Data folder, Doc folder Picture Folder or Web Folder as these folders hold your data and you don't want to accidentally delete your family file or pictures. Don't delete any reports you may have saved to the main Legacy folder nor should you delete the Legacy*.lic file. All the other files should be deleted. You'll need to reset your preferences after you reinstall. Download the latest build of the Standard Edition from our website by clicking on the Download menu button. If you left the Legacy.LIC file as instructed, your Deluxe features will be unlocked. **When you reinstall, make sure that all other programs are shut down and your anti-virus and anti-spyware software is disabled.** Thanks for using Legacy. This is bizarre. I deleted WebPage.usr, although it is re-created as soon as I hit Reset on the Web Page Creation window. I closed and re-opened Legacy, then opened a trivial 1-person family file. I did a File Maintenance on it, just in case. Then I accepted all default settings from the web page Reset button. I still get empty surname and name files! The surname index is an option (which I have selected), but the name list is not even optional, as far as I can see. The pages are generated and linked from the ToC, but contain no names. Within Legacy, my name and surname lists are intact. Two things: I do not know what your appropriate settings are, perhaps you could tell us so that I don't have to test the lot. You do not say what you have tried to resolve the proble. Have you tried File>File maintenance? If you have and that hasn't worked you could try deleting WebPage.usr (since you have tried resetting). Ron Ferguson btw if somebody posts in HTML and you simply reply, then, depending on your email client, you may simply be compounding the felony. _____________________________________________________ *New* Tutorial: Add Location Pins to Google Earth http://www.fergys.co.uk Includes the family tree for Alan J Grimshaw And the Fergusons of N.W. The lists are named in the Table of Contents. I used the same settings as before (probably about a month ago). Is this a bug in the latest release? I'm using the Individual web page style, and have the appropriate checkboxes checked on the Formatting tab. Latest build of Legacy 7 Deluxe.
