It rather depends how you *want* to do it! Personally, I make a difference between alternative spellings and actual AKAs. The former I record as they appear when I enter them in Event Description, Source Detail Name fields and so on. The latter I enter in the AKA field. As far as which is the "main" name goes, I usually choose the one which is used to record the person's birth (if known) but sometimes that is a different spelling to what is nearly always used after that, so then I use the more common one. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
