One more thought - if you are just beginning, you will encounter a similar issue with PLACE names. There's a difference of opinion on here since some genealogists insist on using the actual names of the places that existed at the time of the birth, death, etc. Just be aware that whenever you do anything differently in a place name, you will end up with multiple records.
Example: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA Detroit, Michigan Detroit, , Michigan, USA all end up as separate names on the place names list. Your source names will also be distinct even if a comma or dash is different.
