I don't work with netbook, but if your zipped' did not grab 100%, then you need to do a gedcom instead. Is netbook large enough to hold the Legacy program and the data, with photos, and whatever else is also there. especially if you have multiple copies of any file or backup on it. I never zip Legacy. To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Date: Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 10:43 AM I've a feeling that I've had this problem before but unfortunately don't remember the answer.... I have Legacy running on both a home computer and on a netbook. I just backed the file up from the main computer and copied the zip file to the netbook. I can get the file to open but notice that for some reason the master source records are nearly all missing from the database on the netbook. Should I have used Export rather than using a zip file? How best can I get both computers with the same version of the database so that when I am away from home I can do input on the netbook - then update the main computer? I store images in the pictures subdirectory under Legacy and know that I need to copy newly added info to the other computer's comparable directory. I do the back up for media files but find it rather labour intensive to transfer things from there because my Pictures are further sub directoried by family name. Any ideas on how I can get the sources back so that I don't have to re-enter them on the netbook would be appreciated. With ~5500 individuals I probably have 700 sources -- many of them used repeatedly.
