I would create an event called Note (or whatever you want to call it) and 
transcrihe or summarize the relevant portion(s) of the e-mail into the Note 
field of the event.  I would definitely NOT transcribe it into the details 
field of the source citation because (1) I would have scans (I presume you're 
talking about hard copies of the e-mails, not the original actual electronic 
e-mail) of the e-mails attached to the source anyway and (2) I wouldn't want 
the information relegated to footnotes or endnotes in my reports; I would want 
it in the body of the report.

One could also put it in the General Notes field, but the problem with that is 
it only allows for one source citation and you may have information from 
multiple sources that you want to put in Notes.  For that reason, I've for the 
most part abandoned the General Notes and just use an Event for each separate 
"Note."
