I wouldn't term this as being anything other than a verbose transcription cum interpretation of the Census event details, and as such, place it in the Notes of the event - just as you suggest. However, I prefer to make an exact transcription of the details and record it in the Notes of the Census Event. At the same time, I'll attach a digital image of the Census Return to the event as the Source (a la Ferguson). This Event, along with it's Source details gets copied to the Event Clipboard, and the Source to the Source Clipboard. Using the Event Clipboard, I then duplicate the Census Event against each person mentioned. I then go through the Return to see what further events or facts can be gleaned (Residence, Occupation, Age supposed DOB etc) and create events as and when needed and applying the Source already in the Clipboard. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
