I think you are correct in saying that with the problem which you describe,
like the one I had, needs Legacy to help. The only way I got connected was
to ask Legacy to do it for me. However, as I suggested to Lloyd in an
off-list post, I think that one should check out the junk files and ensure
that one's ISP is not blocking the post before taking that action.

Jerry's experience is different from mine. Like Lloyd, whenever I try to
re-subscribe, the link works and I get a confirmation e-mail in response.
(Last time I tried it, I noticed that the visual text of the link still had
a space in it, but the underlying hyperlink did not have the offending
space.)

My problem the last 3 times, at least, is that even after the confirmation,
I did not receive list e-mails. My only remedy was to contact Legacy
Support.

Jerry's experiment is interesting. He can post to the list but not receive,
even after a 404 error and thus not even making it as far as the
confirmation step. I did not try posting, while in the confirmed but
non-receiving state. Ron, you indicate that you did attempt this, without
success. It sounds backwards. Maybe there are three or four different states
one can get into, not just two?

In any case, if someone is not receiving list mail after receiving the
confirmation, and whether or not they can successfully post to the list, I
think the solution is to contact Support. Pasting and re-submitting the
original URL subscription request will not help. I've tried.

Legacy Support have told me that they are aware of the problem. Apparently
they haven't found a fix yet.

Jerry,

I did not miss your post, but I do not believe that to be Lloyds problem.
Firstly the problem with the URL is that it sometimes contains a space,
which means it cannot be read - correction is to remove the space.

I also was unable to subscribe some time ago, but I could neither write nor
receive. Lloyd can write, hence my belief that the problem is different.

Ron, I guess you missed my post the other day. I'm sure Lloyd is not
fully subscribed to the LUG list because there is a bug, at least
sometimes. I had exactly the same problem, but no one is listening.

Here is the problem: When a new user attempts to click on the welcoming
email from Legacy, he/she gets a 404 not found error on the Internet.
The reason is because the entire URL hyperlink address is not being
picked up when a person clicks on the link.

I have written to a number of persons directly and asked them to do the
following: Copy and paste the entire hyperlink from the Legacy
welcoming email into their Internet browser. This will get them fully
subscribed and it is what I have had to do twice now when I changed
email addresses. It is a re-occurring bug and should be fixed by Legacy.

Lloyd, if you get in ok by COPYING AND PASTING the URL address, will you
please write to the list and let us know?

Jerry in Michigan

This is a bug and should be fixed by Legacy. It is happening quite often.
