Marion, It is a bit difficult to advise on this as I don't know the way in which you file names are structured (if at all) and whether there are duplicates in different folders. However, having put your pictures in folders on your new machine (where *you* want) If you select a missing picture from within Legacy, then instead of asking Legacy to browse for it opt to do it yourself, and since you know where you have put it you can go straight to it. Legacy will then remember where all the pictures in that folder are. You need to do it once for each folder.
But!! Problems can arise if you have files with the same names in different folders. Data files are over fine but of course I am having a problem with the media. The original location on the old computer was completely different to what it is going to be on the new computer (we don't have Documents and Settings in Windows 7 for a start!!) I extracted the media files and sent them to the new drive and folder on the new computer - pointed Options / Tools to the folder in E drive but the media is still looking for C/Documents & Settings etc etc on the old computer. How do I change where it is supposed to look!! I followed the instructions on the Legacy Tips Tim but it said to put in C drive - C is not the drive that will be hosting the media files. Help once more please....
