Thanks to all for your help. I realize now that I was looking at just the
Family View screen but hadn't clicked on the Individual screen where the color
changes show up. Just looking at the Family View/Tab, I had thought that the
color changes were affecting the labels.

Again, my thanks to all who responded!

I had the same problem. This is the post that got me where I needed to be
(first options - customize - colors as stated) THEN I read this and it worked

  "Lisa,
When you get to the Colors tab, click where it says “Click here to change the
user interface colors”. In the next window about the middle where it says “Text
colors” click on Contents and select which ever color bar you want.
  George"

Hope that works for you :-) Kathy

Thanks. I'm aware that I can manually change the colors.

However, would you know how **Legacy changes the color ** when a source is
added to the birth, death, etc. entries?

    Go to:
    Options >> Customize >> Colors,
and click on the "Contents" button. Choose whatever color you want,
but do NOT choose a color the same as the background.

    Have fun.
