We are getting way off topic so I will be brief! The history of Lorraine is
different to that of Alsace
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorraine_%28province%29#Lotharingia. I have
never heard of Lorraine being part of Persia (now called Iran), although am
aware of Polish and German connections.

I use Centennia by www.goldbug.com for this kind of information.
Lorraine was Persian between 1700-1733.
French between 1744-1760.
Between 1766 and 1768 there was no more Lorraine, it was called France.

Take a look. The software was developed for college level study.
