RIN numbers have nothing to do with Ahnentafel numbers.  As you add people you 
your file, they will be assigned a number.  If you want to use Ahnentafel 
numbers, you will need to add them manually in the User ID box (you can use 
that for anything you want).

Thanks for the quick response!  It's very helpful.  I was afraid I'd start one 
way and then hours later realize I'd messed up.  ha!

Do I understand that the RIN is different from Ahnentafel numbers?  Ahnentafel 
numbers are what my uncle showed me years ago (and he's gone now).
