To all, That is how Access has always worked. It is a database app in which you can make updates or adds via a form or within a grid. Once you leave the "field", the change has been saved.
Please everyone, clicking on the X will not cancel a change in an Access database unless it is to the view (layout). This is expected and normal behavior for MS Access. This is NOT a bug!
