Not true - the data is already saved in Access *before* you exit the program.
The prompt asks if you want to save changes to the layout of the table.... i.e., did you widen a column or sort a table? If you only change the data, the data is saved as soon as you exit the cell and you get *no* warning when you close Access using the "x" Which is the way Legacy works. When you've clicked on the "Save" button in any window you've just done an edit in, you've saved the changes. When you click on the "X", it assumes you're saving the changes. This has been discussed with the programmers this is the way they want to handle that. Note, the Date Modified is *Not* changed for everyone in the file if you click on the "X" to exit Legacy. Only if you use the "X" to exit an edit window. The proper way to exit any edit window is to click on either a "Save", "Cancel" or "Close" button. Dennis' posting of the Windows guidelines, highlighting a key comment says it all "Avoid assuming that the Close command is the equivalent of the Cancel command."
