Don't get me wrong, I'm not *complaining* about the three bar capability - I also find it very useful - at least I did until I realised that it adds the source in places I didn't expect it to. I still say the Help file is not really clear - certainly I misunderstood it. By 'all events' I presumed it meant all the vital events which is what you can see on the individual information screen. To add a source to any of the other events individually I have to physically go to the screen for that event - I didn't think the three bar icon would be any different. I will still use it, but I'll be more careful in my future use. And I do think it would be a good idea, and therefore even more useful, if it only applied the source to the VISIBLE fields of VISIBLE events that happen to contain information.

Let's say you're adding a new individual from a census record. You have not only birth info, but can also add a census event, residence event, occupation event, maybe property event (to show the value of personal and/or real property), schooling (yes, the person went to school or can read/write) etc to an individual. Or you have a book and have been able to add all the vitals on an individual but have not yet added any events.... Do you want to do one click to add that source to all the new things you just added or do you want to click several times? Honestly, this thread is the *first* complaint I've seen about the three bars that I can remember. I started using Legacy with v2 in 1997 and have been doing support since v4 in 2002.....
