Your first misunderstanding is about what a Master Source is - it's not a template! Depending on how you view sources it's basically a document or the source of multiple similar documents i.e. either a specific Birth Certificate or Birth Certificates in general, or Birth Certificates issued by place A etc etc etc Since you wanted to set up a template, I presume you set up a Basic Source, as opposed to a SourceWriter source for which you are restricted to the supplied templates. Even a Basic Source for a Birth Certificate is not a template as such. See the Help file for lots of information on Sourcing. Of course, you can set up your Birth Certificate Template as you did, but in that case you NEVER use it as a Master Source. When you want to set up a new Birth Certificate source, you should copy your Template and save it as a separate Master Source which you subsequently use for your citation(s). -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
