It's not what we prefer - it's what the programmers prefer <g>

We are always assisting people with problems using Legacy who have
installed to the c:\Program Files folder and not set UAC as required.

Some users install their OS on drive C and programs on D.  Allowing
them to set the path can help them accomplish this.

BTW, I have several programs installed that default to c:\
