Please note that I was specifically referring to the countries of
England/Wales, Scotland and Pre 1921 Ireland when saying that I only
labelled them by country and Year. This may not apply to other countries
and, I know does not for the USA.

At this point (I may be sorry because I know others do it differently) I
list the Census as an event. I'm using just the Country/date/name of census
as source, and the county etc. under the detail. Under the marriage, if it
is the family, and under the individual if not married. I am saving the
images in a directory that will make them easy to find, but haven't taken
the time yet to attach them. I enter a full transcription for direct line
ancestors. For events such as residence, occupation, immigration year,
Alternte names, etc. I list the source and put just the line from the census
that pertains to that - in the text place under detail.

I'm not following you when you talk about printing reports or finding
individuals because I'm still entering data, cleaning up a lot of entries
that were not done well when I first started. I do want to enter the
information in a way that will make reports and searches easier when I need
those features.

I was happy that Ron said he is using just the country and year for his
census source. Since most of my ancestry so far is in Ontario, then the USA,
I would have a lot of sources if I went by county.

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Marg - why can't you print your report with a search function and find
your people in a specific city, county or state? You have already
listed the location in the Census event - unless I am missing
something here if your event is the Census (mine are - Census, date,
place) and the source is Census, you should be able to find. Do you
not use the event or fact as the Census?
