One suggestion would be to expand the photo canvas on the bottom, then add the 
date (or name and date or whatever information you wish to add) by adding the 
info into a text box. I usually ‘save as’ and give the edited photo a new name, 
just so I can keep the original. This process is easy to do by using the free 
FastStone Image viewer software utility at  http://www.faststone.org/



I’m sure other photo editing software offers the same type of option. It sounds 
like this process might be complicated but it only takes a minute to complete 
once you know the few steps to take. Even though I own several full featured 
software editing packages, a small utility that works well and fast is usually 
what I reach for when this type of change or addition is needed.

I am still sorting and organizing my photos that I have on my computer.  I am 
not attaching them in Legacy yet. I just received a photo from my cousin of his 
grandmother (my grandmother’s sister).  It is dated 1940.  I have saved it as 
GlaentzerSusanne01 but is there some way to make a note of the date without 
putting the date in the file name?
