I agree. Great advise ! This is what I have been doing for years. I remember Geoff showing me the way he did his over 10~15 years ago. I'm sure he has probably changed it by now. I like to include not only the date, but also the description (_Annelöv Parish_, 1826 Malmöhus, Sweden), names of cemetery's, or names of individuals in the photo. As mentioned, the canvas can be made different sizes. I always increase the right side for where I got it or the url info I need. Back to the original question, I use the discription in my file name. "Sweden_Annelöv_Parish_1826.tif", easier for me to scan through. I have over 33,000 photos/documents/ect. in my long and deep tree. Takes just a few minutes just to do so when you first have the item. -- Tim Rosenlof Utah, USA Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
