There is a separate source field for Death Cause.

"Alt" events were created for entering alternate dates. You enter the most
likely date in the Vitals section at the top of the Individual's
Information window and then alt dates and/or locations as events. If you
find that the Alt is the correct date/location, you can quickly switch
between the two with Alt events.

I have passed on a suggestion to the programmers to add a separate Notes
field.
