We're all still learning. I enter in the Legacy User ID, the ID on my website (that includes a code for the ancestral line the person is in (I don't use Legacy to create my website). Very handy when I have one person in two or three lines. Or when I want to search just on the people in one line.

What do others use as User ID numbers? I like the ahnentafal numbering system (1 for me; 2 for my father; 3 for my mother, etc) but it would not do, since, for my children's benefit, I have their fathers genealogy in my data base as well. All that side would have no number. How on earth do I assign User IDs at this late date anyhow?
