Michael, Your item 4 Click on Show Map, should only need to be done once as it should stick. If nothing seems to happen I suggest that you try left clicking the empty space below "show map" and if no luck, shut Legacy down and restart after a couple of minutes.

On the ones I have the mapping works pretty fast, so if you are waiting for ages then something is wrong - "how do you mean "I have a limit on this"? or you on dial-up or something? In any event I don't think that the files are large. There are various ways of accessing the maps, which one is being used? I will check it. On the Vista PC I get the message that the map is not finished downloading. How long do I need to wait? How large of a file is downloading? Go to the Legacy Home Tab on the left of the tool bar, and the Options button is on the to right, clicking that gives "options" as one choice amongst others, and clicking that "option" should give you choices as to when Legacy can open the internet.
