I use a surname format. Each surname gets a folder in SS Pics (Scharpf-Saar) folder. Then the picture gets named for what it is, ie Smith, John - obituary, Smith, John - grave, etc. If there are two people with the same name, I name it Smith, John 1835 - obituary (the 1835 represents the birth year of the person). I have 417 surname folders with thousands of files. Perhaps this system won't work in the future, but for now it works great for me. Just another way that's very simple. Elsie
