And then there are people like me. I took my first husband's name - had a couple of kids - built a professional career in which my name was very public and then divorced. A number of years later, I remarried. Because of the professional career - and my kids, the new hubby suggested I keep the name I was known under. (Besides if we had hyphenated the new name it either sounded like I was throwing up or being super pretentious.) I know who I am - but would love to see how people treat it a number of years from now.
