Each document, used as a source, is numbered, ie Birth 001, Death 001 etc, and that number is placed in the File ID Number. CLOOZ links people to the documents. In Legacy people are linked to people. When I need a document to either review or show as proof for an event it's very easy to find. Documents are numbered, placed in an acid free page sleeve, then in a 3 ring binder. When I originally started researching my family in 1975, I used a family filing system. This often meant making 2 copies of a document when 2 families were on a document. Now my files are arranged by project surname, then by type of document [I use the KISS principal] then by number. I'd be very happy to answer any questions on this method. Are they indicators of where I am (now) missing images I had previously attached to my tree but have been lost through the gedcom import? How can I "fix" them if that is the case? How can I get rid of them if they are now irrelevant? And how could I use them to my advantage in the future?
