No, as far Events are concerned, I only use the Census for a Census Event. (I use it as a Source for various other fields.) I include the full address (as full as it is given) in the Place field. (I know there are many who will not include street addresses in the Place field and many who use a Census as a Source for several Events/Fact but never as an Event in its own right.) I create Residence (where I don't know the street address) or Address Event when I get that information from some other Source. For example, I might derive Residence information for parents & child from a Baptism Register or Address information from a City Directory. The Date and Place fields (with Source) for a series of Events for one Individual might read something like: 1848 12 High Street, Sometown, County, Country (Directory) 30 March 1851 High Street, Sometown, County, Country (Census) 25 April 1851 Sometown, County, Country (Baptism Register) 07 April 1861 12 High Street, Sometown, County, Country (Census) Although it may appear that the family lived at the same address from 1848 to 1862 I never create an Event with the date range because I don't have *proof* that their residence at the address was continuous. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
