Fred, If you would like to know more about FamilySearch and Family Tree, I suggest you watch the training videos that FamilySearch has. You can see them here https://familysearch.org/treetraining
After that, you can watch two free webinars that Legacy has put out: Improving Your Use of New FamilySearch: Data Cleanup Strategies http://www.familytreewebinars.com/download.php?webinar_id=57 New FamilySearch Made Easy with Legacy Family Tree http://www.familytreewebinars.com/download.php?webinar_id=58 These two webinars will show you how Legacy interfaces directly with Family Tree (the little arrows you are seeing). The above two webinars are based on New FamilySearch which was the predecessor to FamilyTree but the principles are all the same. That worked! I can now take a deep breath and relax. No more experimenting for me. Randy, they weren't showing when I clicked on the "Home" tab which should show the "Preferred Start up Family". I never noticed it before, but I'm showing a dim double arrow, pointing right and left located to the far side of each individuals name. When I arrow over the arrows it says "This person has not yet been matched with Family Search". So being a little "gun shy" I don't know if I should click on those double arrows or not. Any thoughts if I should or not? Thanks again folks, Your the best. Under Display Numbers on Names select RINs radio button and save. See if that helps. My data base is up to over 1100 family members. I thought I might want to change the location of where Legacy is backing up the files. So I clicked on the upper Tab Options >Customize>Locations. Made a change in the "Default Location of Family Files". Then having second thoughts that I better leave it alone, I clicked on the "Reset to Defaults" button on the bottom of the page. Now when I click on the Home Tab, I no longer show the RIN numbers. In a panic, I printed out a "Descendant Narrative Book". The RIN numbers printed out fine. My question is how do I show the RIN numbers when I'm on the Home page? Help! I'm in a panic thinking I might have trashed my data base! Thanks to all who take the time to help me. Fred H.
