So you are wanting to find people that are listed in a county but not listed in
that same county if they are listed in a specific town? In other words, you
only want to see those listed in Angus, Scotland and not anyone that is listed
in a specific town in Angus?

I would do that in the Master Location list. All you have to do is find the
entry that is only , Angus, Scotland and tag those people.

If you want everyone in Angus (in the county and within towns in that county)
you can still do it using the Master Location List. Just sort your list so
that all of the Angus locations are together and then it is easy to look at
each list and tag them. It doesn’t take long at all because under each
location you can select List Options and then Tag Everyone in List. It takes
about 2 seconds for each location.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Search for all people in one county

Does anyone know if there is a simple way to search for all the people who I
have recorded as living in one county (or state or even country)?

I am finding that as I get more into the filling out of minute details, I am
needing to collate together all of the people who lived in a certain county or
state.
And as a person might be located somewhere for an event other than a birth
death or marriage, a three tiered search repeated dozens of times is not
helpful when trying to cover any one of a multitude of event possibilities.
I need to be able to collect everyone who has a county or state (or even as
wide as a specific country) listed for me as a result of a single search return.
I know that we can do an "Any date" search, but I can't see an "Any place"
search.
This kind of search is not possible by going to "locations" as that will only
show people in specific towns, or other locations as specifically entered, it
can not show me everyone who I have recorded as living in Angus Scotland (for
example), it will show me Oathlaw Angus Scotland, or Brechin Angus Scotland,
but not Angus Scotland (unless I have entered that location for someone without
a more specific town, but even then it's only for that one or two people, not
the possibly 150 who lived in Angus Scotland)

I've submitted this as a feature request, but since we are unlikely to get any
minor updates before Legacy 8 comes out, and this request might not even come
out in the first few minor updates after that, I still need to find all of the
people in one county in a quick and easy manner.

Aside from the repeated searches with different criteria, is there ANY way I
can do this with a minimum of fuss and bother?

Thanks
