Brian, thank you for your help (and everyone else's) on this.  It worked like a 
charm.  It was the twelfth step that was critical, changing to direct line 
ancestors only.

At step 12 in Dave's directions he tells you to choose the entire ancestor line 
for the copy. If there are cross connections due to intermarriages in those 
ancestral lines then that option will select descendants of those connected 
ancestor lines. That can cause Legacy to include extra lines because of those 
descendants.

At step 12 change your selection to Direct line ancestors only. That will 
prevent those extra descendants from being included.
