Folks,
I really need some help. My old PC died, but I had my files backed up. I
just bought a Samsung Windows 8 PC and am trying to load everything onto
it. I DO NOT understand Windows 8, so when I purchased Legacy 8, and
downloaded it, it went to:

C:/Users/myname/documents/Legacyfamilytree/ - and put Legacy Charts and
Legacy Family Tree with _AppData, Data, Media under this location.

This gave me a shortcut to the new Legacy8 icon.

I knew that something went wrong because I could not get my Legacy files to
come up correctly. I have used Legacy for many years and have never had an
issue when I upgraded to Legacy6 or Legacy7 etc..

I tried to uninstall it, but it kept the folder out there and would not
completely uninstall it all.

However, I tried to reinstall it on the "C" drive - Legacy where I thought
it originally went and have since discovered that I can force everything to
work OK (I think) on the "C" drive. I see all my families and photos etc
just fine. When I open a file now at the very top of my screen it says:
 :Legacy - {C:\Data\Carter.fdb]

However, what I don't know is, if I just leave the Legacy8 that is filed
under "document" alone, is it going to interfere down the road with the
installed version of Legacy 8 on the "C" drive?

Everything I have tried to do keeps sending me to the
C:/Users/myname/documents/Legacyfamilytree/. So I am concerned that it is
where the program really is and not on the "C" Legacy drive.

Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks so much for any guidance you an give me.
Margaret
