Well you are lucky - at least some of your text turns white - my problem is the fact that *none* of the text turns white at any time under the highlight no matter what view I am in - be it Best Fit, One, Two or Three Columns or Grid View - there seem to be several of us having similar problems but not all the same problems. Do we report this as a bug or is it merely a setting that we haven't found yet.
It would be interesting to find out just how many people are seeing / not seeing white text under highlights under any types of Children's Views.
