Pam:
I don't think there are any free version of software to run Legacy 8 on a
Mac other than Crossover.

I have had some problems with Parallels on being able to correctly find the
Drive path to Legacy files (e.g., C:\user\My Documents\Legacy Family
Tree\Data). Parallels wants to use the virtual drive path of:
\\psf\Home\Documents\LegacyFamilyTree\Data\. The Legacy Relinker has
problems with basically a network drive that has \\ in front of the drive
path.

I am going to switch over and run in VMWare Fusion 6. It integrates much
better with the homegroups of windows and networking.

Yes, you will probably need to pay for software to get a good solution on
the Mac. You will need VMWare Fusion 6 - $59. You will also need a copy
of Windows 7 or 8 - recommend you use windows 7 which will cost about $90 -
$150 depending on the version. So, you will need to spend about $150 to
$200 in software to get Legacy 8 running on your Mac. I wouldn't think the
$200 would be a problem since the Mac hardware you bought is about twice as
high as PC hardware.

Good luck on your purchases.
Chap
